Scenic Drives and Public Lands (State Forests & State Parks)
I have found all of the data that I need on the State GIS pages. As far as scenic drives go I will just need the roads layer. For that map i'm going to give each route a different color and put a bold line over the road where that scenic drive follows. To the side of the map I'm going to give a little description of that scenic drive, and below the map I'm going to show some pictures along those different route shown on the map. I'll probably have some kind of line or arrow pointing from the route to the picture so you know which picture corresponds with each route. As I said before each route is going to have a different color. To the right it will be kind of like a legend. It will show a line of that color, and then next to it will be a description of that route.
For the Public Lands map I'm going to have both points and polygons to represent state forests and parks. Some are going to be smaller than others, so for those I will use a point instead of a polygon. I have a feeling though that most of them will be represented as points. Same as the scenic drives map, i'm going to give a description of the state forests and state parks. There's going to be a lot, so I might just pick out the bigger ones to describe. Along with that I will also show pictures of the state parks.
